Z Crew: Fast Cuttin’ In Colorado

Limon, CO- Yesterday we finished up with all of our acres in Colorado! Things moved quickly, that’s for sure. With the temperature being in the triple digits and almost no humidity everyday, you can imagine how we moved right along. The protein in the wheat wasn’t great, but we had good test weight.

Other than finishing up, we haven’t had much excitement. Taylor comes back to us on the fourth, but until then, I’m an only child! I guess you could say that I’ve moved up a bit in the world, because now I’m the one that gets to help Mom and Dad in the field, as well as hold down the fort back at the trailer house. With that being said, I’ll now leave you with a ton of pictures due to my extra time in the field.

These puffy clouds made the combine look picture perfect while working.

Dad loves running the combine, or as we like to call it, the “Yellow Beast”.

Dad pointed out these cracks in the ground due to the drought. Everyday he would say that it felt like an oven outside, and this is definitely the result of that.

Some storm clouds approached us last night, but we were left untouched.

Pikes Peak in the distance. You can see some smoke to the right of the mountain.

Yet again, Limon gives us another beautiful sunset.
